Is it possible to use the latest CONNECT version of ICS with V8i 08.11.11.590 ProjectWise Server and Clients?

Yes, iCS for PDF 10.00.02.265 can create renditions from PW servers/clients running 8.11.11.590. However, you will need to upgrade all ProjectWise components on the iCS server to 10.00.02.265.

Forum Post: Bentley Image Server in Microstation Raster referencing from ProjectWise

Hello, we've got plenty of images (jpg + jgw) located in ProjectWise and we're looking for a good way to access them in Microstation. Now the files in ProjectWise have non-helpful filenames (but better read-able document names) but when referencing Rasters by 'attach raster' it just shows the filename. When I look at Microstation Reference Manger I see Image Server as a source and in documentation I found you need a Bentley Image Server configured. Actually what is Image Server, is it a Bentley product (didn't find it yet) and is an Image Server capable of accessing Images stored in ProjectWise Explorer. We're using Bentley V8i (not CONNECT yet). btw: does anybody else have problems with this website here? In IE11 it shows me the menu (Wiki, Forum,...Calendar) vertically and not horizontally, that takes 70% of visibility

In Job Builder > Options > Publish Settings, “Publish Displayed Attachments Only” can be used to publish reference files that are displayed only and exclude references that are not displayed. This feature is available by default and can be used if the publishing engine (i.e MicroStation) supports it. Bentley Automation Service CONNECT Edition 10.00.02.01 and later contains an undocumented feature that can be used as an option to exclude all reference files, including self-references (active file attached to itself). To enable this feature, set the following system environment variable on the BAS server. EnableRemoveAllReferences=1 With the system variable set, “Remove all reference files” will be added to the Publish Settings dialog. Remove EnableRemoveAllReferences as a system environment variable to remove this option. Contact Bentley ProjectWise Support for any questions regarding these steps.

Forum Post: ICS for PDF Timeout setting

How can I change the Timeout settings for ICS? (SS4 08.11.11.584) I am getting an error on some large files - 'TIMEOUT, ipmstnsrvm failed to complete within 1800 seconds'.- and need to increase the timeout value. The setting has been modified in the IPLOT.cfg file - 'IPLOT_MSTN_TIMEOUT = 2400' - but this has not had any effect. Thanks

Try IPLOT_MSTN_TASK_TIMEOUT = 0 Add this to iplot.cfg, restart the OF service after making this change. A value of 0 specifics no timeout period.

Forum Post: ProjectWise Orchestration framework - Distribute files to non ProjectWise location

We are using ProjectWise Orchestration Framework to distribute files from our company to another and vice-versa. This is working well using a saved search to gather the required files and distribute these to the respective data sources on a scheduled basis. My question is - Can a similar distribution be conducted from a ProjectWise location to a non-ProjectWise location E.G. to a network drive or SharePoint. I can't see any settings that would allow this in the orchestration framework admin, nor the rendition output destination folder settings. We are using ProjectWise V8i 08.11.11.590 for all our server suite and Connect 10.00.02.265 for clients We hope to have our servers upgraded to connect edition soon. however, are stuck with the older servers and systems for now Regards,

I assume you are using Orchestration Framework in the context of iCS for PDF. No, you cannot distribute to a non-PW location. Upgrading to CONNECT Edition will not change the answer. We have an enhancement filed on this request. Once you move to CONNECT, you might consider using Project Share on the ProjectWise Project to share files to a non-PW location.

Dawn, so by this statement, ProjectWise iCS will use the AutoCAD print engine if the application is installed on the iCS server and properly configured?

No, it will not... DWG file are always processed by MicroStation (IPLOT forces this). If AutoCAD was installed on the iCS server, I don't recall if it would fail because we would attempt to use AutoCAD and it would not work or if we ignore the AutoCAD application and fall back on the print engine set in the ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer Configure utility. Either way, we do not use AutoCAD to process DWG files in iCS. Best practice is do not install AutoCAD on the iCS server and since the application is not there, iCS uses the print engine in the ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer Configure utility. However you can attach the AutoCAD style table (ctb, stb) as the MicroStation pen table in the IPLOT settings file (rendition presentation) for output matching AutoCAD weights/colors.

Thanks Dawn. The iCS documentation regarding print engines needed is rather vague. This clarifies.

Hello All, First at all, I'm not a PW admin, I don't know how to setup Iplot for PW. Our PW admin is too busy to investigate my problem, so I raise the question here to get the answer to show our PW admin. Please see the attachments, the logo OZ is a picture, which color is orange in MS, and the color used to be correct in PDF. But now the color in PDF becomes yellow. I did test on the PDF server, print it with Iplot application, the color is correct(orange). I guess the problem is caused by Iplot color table. Open Iplot I can specify the color table, but how to set it in PW?
