Applies To Product(s): ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer Version(s): 08.11.11.56 Environment: N/A Area: General Subarea: Original Author: Todd Combs, Bentley Technical Support Group Problem Description When attempting to add a design file named with international characters to InterPlot Organizer an “ Invalid Input File ” error displays. InterPlot is internally multi-byte capable, which means it works well with the supported languages of Windows. However, being multi-byte (not Unicode), it does require that the locale be set to the desired language. (This example will be for Japanese data) Open Control Panel Region and Language. In the Formats tab select Japanese. In the Administrative Tab, select the “Change system locale…” button on the bottom to change the locale. Click the Apply button when asked to apply region and language changes. In the Locale dialog select Japanese from the drop down menu. Select OK. In the next dialog select “Restart now”. Be ready for your machine to restart before you click this. After your machine has restarted, log in. Open Control Panel Region and Language. In the Administrative Tab, select the “Copy settings…” button on the top. Enable the checkboxes for “Welcome screen and system accounts” and “New user accounts”. Select OK. This copies the Format and Location to the system accounts and will also enable them for a user account if you create one after setting this locale. Select OK from the Region and Language dialog. Now you must Restart your machine again. This is the only way to get the System accounts to use the new locale settings. You will not be able to use Japanese data until this is done.
